Start with the authority, not a universal list
Applicants often translate every academic paper they own. That can be expensive and still miss the evidence an assessor needs. First identify the competent authority and read its current requirements for your exact occupation.
Common document groups
Authorities commonly ask for identity evidence, the qualification certificate, a transcript or curriculum showing subjects and hours, professional experience records and a German-language CV. Regulated professions may have additional evidence. Copies may need certification, and translations may need a sworn translator.
Ask about unavailable evidence
If a university has closed or records cannot be obtained, do not invent a substitute. Explain the situation to the authority and ask what alternative evidence it accepts. Keep written records of requests made to archives or institutions.
Translate only after confirming language, certification and translator requirements. A clear source document and the correct formalities matter more than the size of the file.
